The Red Raider fans are turning their Texas Tech University merchandise back into the Texas Tech University bookstore.  The football season is coming apart at the seams.  If they lose at New Mexico, a winning season will be in jeopardy.

First they are playing sloppy football with more penalties than any other Division I school.  The pre-snap penalties are killers and the post play penalties are absolutely stupid.  This killed them at Texas and will do the same when they play K State, Nebraska, A & M, Kansas, Oklahoma State and Oklahoma.

This week they suspended the preseason All-American offensive lineman Brandon Carter for violating team rules.  No one knows yet what rules, but the offensive line just became more porous.  That is not something that Texas Tech needs.

On a positive note, the Red Raiders have a lot to build on.  They only lost to #17 Houston by one point in a when they gave up a touchdown with 49 seconds to go.  Their 10 point loss to #2 Texas was highlighted by over 400 yards passing by gunslinger Taylor Potts.  This team proved they have come back ability against ranked teams.  We will have to see how they handle the rest of the schedule.
