So someone tell me, just exactly what is a Hoosier? Yeah, I've heard the old "..this is me - whose yours..." baloney for years, but I don't buy that for a minute. Somebody fess up and tell me the truth.

My father was a Hoosier, born and raised, and a proud grad of Old IU ( class of 48 ). While growing up, he proudly taught my twin cousin, my little brother, and I the words to the fight song, fudging the lyrics a little to get us interested, insisting that the song was:
"Indy Santa, our Indy Santa; Indy Santa, we're all for you..........."
He then took us over to our great Aunt Mary's house and told her we had learned a new school song. Not understanding that she was a Purdue grad, we sang it loud and proud, much to her disgust. He was such a sleeze ball.
While he was a devout IU fan, he hated Bobby Knight, and so rooted against the only good teams to grace the IU campus in decades. Luckily, many of his fellow alums did it right, sending him numerous Indiana University gifts.
Whether they found the crimson toilet seat at the Indiana University bookstore, or at a garage sale, it made its way to our house. He got sweaters, hats, and mugs with the red IU logo. Indiana University decals, Indiana University flags, and Indiana University banners came too. When he passed away, of course I inherited all of this great Indiana University merchandise. Over time, I have located this great site ( logoproducts4less.com ), which sells all kinds of Indiana University accessories. I am confident that my collecting all of this Indiana University stuff has been the driving force behind their team's improvements. National Champs in 2009??? EYE EEEEEWWWWW!!!!!!!!!!!!!
