Ford Pulls the Rug out from Aftermarket Floor Mat Companies

Monday, October 18, 2010 by Peter Marr
After years of making Ford Logo Floor Mats, Lloyd Mats announced today that starting on January 1, 2011 they will no longer be able to embroider mats with Ford, Mustang, Cobra and other Ford trademarks on car models that are less than 10 years old.

In reaction to the problems of floor mats causing accelerators to stick, Ford is no longer going to let aftermarket floor mat manufacturers use their trademarks on this product.  With Toyota recalling millions of cars and Ford recalling a few hundred thousand vehicles, this issue has tipped the scale so that Ford feels it is more risky to have the logos on the mats than the revenue it would generate to license these Ford, Mustang, Cobra and other logos.

The Ford logo will continue to be used on many other car accessories.  At web stores like LogoProducts4Less.com you will be able to find a Ford clock, Ford decals, Ford seat cover even a Ford license plate.  The list of Ford merchandise that is available is seeminly endless.  When you get ready for your Christmas shopping, however, you will need to get your Ford logo floor mats this year.  The licenses used to make these floor mats won't expire until the end of 2010.  So put this item at the top of your list of Ford gifts for the Ford lover in your family.  It will fit right in with the other Ford stuff they have in the garage or favorite car.
