Snoopy the Soccer Player

Last night on the way home I saw a bunch (maybe I should say hundreds) of kids at a soccer field practicing for the Fall season.  It reminded me of all the years that I have been one of the parents standing on the sidelines encouraging one of my children to run faster, kick harder or just to pay attention.

For over 30 years I have been involved in one way or another with soccer.  It was a great shock for me when I started because there were no soccer teams in my little Indiana town as a child.  With my oldest child I had to learn about free kicks and offsides.  These were totally foreign ideas to me.  But slowly I learned the rules and ultimately the nuances of the game.  After a brief stint in Europe I started to sound like a pro -- or at least an avid fan.

This year my youngest decided that volleyball was more her sport than soccer.  Never again will I coach or be a sideline parent for a soccer game.  In memory of all the wonderful hours I spent watching, playing, coaching and reading soccer, I have attached a Snoopy Soccer keychain to my keys.  Now everytime I reach for the keys I will remember the good times I had.

If you are looking for Snoopy gifts, this is a great stocking stuffer.  You can also find a selection of Snoopy accessories for your car at LogoProducts4Less.com.  They carry lots of Snoopy stuff like Snoopy seat cover and other Snoopy accessories for your car.  Here is a list of the items on the site.
