Gary Grimes of San Diego has started riding around on his white Honda Goldwing with a "Be Polite" sign on it. His hope is that this will grab the other driver's attention and get them to drive in a more safety conscious way. It seems people mistake him for a CHIP bike cop. They wave at him and give him the thumbs up.
Since almost all Harley drivers are already polite, this sign is obviously for the car drivers. Everyday Harley riders must deal with the impolite actions of the car and truck drivers. Actually, it is needed when you watch the political debates today.
Maybe the NFL should adopt this logo. I can see it plastered over the helmets of the players. Who knows, that might cause a drop in unsportsmanlike conduct. The MLB could require all pitchers to put Be Polite on the front of their jerseys. That way when they bean someone, the batter could see these words before charging the mound. I can see Atlanta Braves decals with a Be Polite on the feathers of their brave.
This might even start a whole new movement. Harley owners might start buying Harley Davidson license plates with the "Be Polite" logo. We could even see Kawasaki stuff with the "Be Polite" imprinted on it. You might even see Jeep stuff with the Be Polite logo.
