Well here we are again, ready to kick off Spring Training 2010, and wondering what the YANKEES will do this season. As the defending WORLD SERIES CHAMPIONS, what DO you do for an encore? This is a team that has retired 15 players numbers, including all-stars Babe Ruth, Joe DiMaggio, Lou Gehrig, Mickey Mantle, Yogi Berra, Roger Maris, Thurmond Munson, Whitey Ford, Casey Stengel, and Reggie Jackson! The only single digit players number left is 2. They may be the first ball club to have players with a 3 digit number!! The number of big time home run hitters is awesome. They have held the record for most home runs in a season with 2 different guys, most life time homers, most consecutive games hit safely, most consecutive games played, ONLY perfect game in a World Series, several of the longest home runs ever hit, it just goes on and on. There just simply is not another team that can come close to comparing. And we haven’t even begun to talk about the current batch of champions!!! You don’t want to even get me started!!!

To gain proper perspective of Cobra accessories and goodies, it is important to garner a little history of the Little Cobra that The Rip Chords sang about in the 60’s. Cobra dates back a few decades before that hot rod hit. It was actually the engine in a Crosley in the 30’s. Say what???

CROSLEY CARS were one of many products built by Powel Crosley, who became a millionaire selling radios in the twenties and refrigerators in the thirties. To provide his radio buyers with programming, he bought WLW in Cincinnati and somehow finagled permission to broadcast at 500,000 watts. People all over southern Ohio could hear WLW on their eyeglasses, on their fillings, and on barbed wire fences. Of course the station broadcast the games of the Cincinnati Redlegs, which Crosley also owned. Crosley introduced his minicar in 1939. It weighed in at 924 pounds and measured a foot shorter than the original VW Beetles. A couple thousand Crosleys were produced before Pearl Harbor, and production of these little cars continued after the war. For a couple of years sales were good, and introduction of the Hotshot sports car in 1949 helped, but by 1952 the car business was losing money and Crosley threw in the towel.

The term COBRA was attached to the engines in his little cars, made of steel and welded together. COBRA stood for Copper Brazed, was extremely light weight, and saw a lot of action in World War II, powering generators in all branches of the service. The complete engine with all its accessories only weighed 133 pounds and packed a whopping 25 horsepower.

Daytona 500 Pace Car & NASCAR Accessories

So, On my way into the office this morning I heard the announcement that the 2011 Ford Mustang GT is going to be the Official Pace Car for the Feb 14 Daytona 500 Race. We have great Nascar gifts and Ford stuff for you.

Being a Mild NASCAR Fan, I found it sort of interesting in the next fact, that Ford hasn't been chosen as a Pace car since the 1970 Ford Torino GT Convertible! (That was before I was even born.) I just took a minute and was surprised I suppose that the Mustang hadn't made the cut before, since it's been such a muscle car and seems so loved. Then I started thinking - Oh It's NASCAR season, and we have so many fun NASCAR accessories and racing accessories.

While NASCAR Stuff is by far our most popular - We have a full spectrum of logo racing accessories. From R Racing gear like seat covers and the popular floor mats to Holly NOS logo accessories like auto decals, and key chains.
